SEEKING WORK - Remote (based in Germany) I do custom electronics and robotics development work. My focus is on quickly getting a project from idea to prototype. Also happy to advise on technical or financial feasibility of a project. Experi

I'd venture a guess it's the TSA, with the backscatter machines (radiation), millimeter wave machines (pornographic pictures - not really but definitely privacy-invading) and groping people inappropriately, including children all

The problem is getting samples from the bodies. The mtDNA was sampled from direct female line relatives of both victim and suspect, the bodies of the original victim and suspect are no longer available for forensic work. It should be reason

Reduced weight, reduced power consumption (power infrastructure is expensive to set up even where power is cheap), reduced size, better reliability (diode lasers have no loss of gas pressure issues), better power density. All reasons to go

Yeah, that might happen, in 20 years when the patents expire. Before that, this will be much higher cost than tube lasers which anyone can make and repair.

Of course they do, or they would not be very useful given the number of horribly-built websites today, but even the JS-enabled screen readers can get confused by dynamically loaded content, sometimes getting it in the wrong order or not bei

I always disable JS by default. It prevents a lot of the cross-site tracking bullshit from working. And catering to users with disabilities tends to be easier when your page content is represented as page content and not dynamically loaded

Harmless or not, I'd like to have a way to know when the compiler is relying on undefined behavior for optimization, and use that to make an informed decision. I'd argue a very large number of the cases where undefined behavior is
