I've never played the game but listened to Vib-Ribbon Blues a million times. Seeing this I took the opportunity to watch a playthrough, and wow, the singing voice is actually the character speaking in the tutorial. I had no idea.

Good luck trying to convince anyone who is not already using it. I've tried super hard to get my friends and family to use a password manager but they brush it off as a joke. Even when they lose their account it doesn't seem to bo

I'm sure the people celebrating it in that thread still stand by their opinion. I don't see how this changes anything.

So no code with permissive licenses has any financial value? I release all my code under MIT which means people are free to do whatever they want with it, including training their AI on it.

I fail to see how that is relevant to your original comment. You seem to suggest that if you're fine with AI being trained on your code it means that your code is insignificant, which of course makes no sense.

It was flagged for a short while but someone probably vouched for it (another feature you get after a certain karma). The existing flags probably adds a downweight to it.

Flagging is done by users, not YC themselves. Once you reach a certain karma you get the option to flag posts and comments.

If you only care when something affects you personally it's hard to take your criticism seriously. It's much easier when you have no stake in the game or even benefit from it. Likewise, if you can say "this sucks for me perso

I find it extremely exhilarating when an AI successfully helps me to solve a complex problem. I thought AI was only good for reducing boilerplate and "copypasting" tedious tasks (which it is, through Copilot) but now I get excited

Out of all things you can "steal" I can't think of anything with less intrinsic value than the mentioning of a book title. Pretty sure no-one who posts a recommendation on a public forum has any expectations of ownership or a

Now explain the rise of gang violence in Sweden, with kids queuing to become gang members. I don't think poverty is the explanation (nor is immigration as some claims). There's no desperation here and plenty of options for other c

I can assure you that every single Swede agrees that it's failing. People are horrified at what's happening. Anyway, bringing up Scandinavia as one unit doesn't work anymore when there's such a big difference between Swe

I would presume an Excel AI is trained or fine-tuned on Excel, yes. Anyway, you're not asking these questions in good faith. You've already made up your mind that AI is bad: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=377

Misplaced comment considering this is not about Github Copilot. > Think of CoPilot as having your very own ChatGPT seamlessly integrated into all your Microsoft applications – Windows, Edge, Excel, and PowerPoint.

I don't understand how it's economically viable to build an AI business. 32,768 is nothing and using OpenAI as a price reference (which I presume is heavily subsidised) just one chat hitting that will be ~$4 a message if you trunc

And if you don't take a salary that money becomes profit, so the profit is effectively used for salaries. Claiming my company is not profit-driven because I use 100% of the surplus revenue for my salary is of course nonsense.

You use the profit to pay your salary. You could choose not to, or use the money for other things. That's no different than any other company.
