Why are people benchmarking against 3.5? To me, the real race started with GPT-4. 3.5 and 4 are completely different beasts and that open models are catching up to 3.5 doesn't mean much. I've yet to see anything come close to 4.

Why would I run it myself when I can run GPT-4 for less than the electricity cost? Running these yourself is not free. OpenAI is heavily subsidized.

It's unbelievable and shocking. I really want to hear the reasoning from people downvoting these comments.

Your comment should be dead as well since it's breaking the site guidelines. > Please don't post insinuations about astroturfing, shilling, brigading, foreign agents, and the like. It degrades discussion and is usually mistaken

Mindustry is more arcade and tower defense, with scenarios instead of an infinite map and a meta progression between scenarios where you unlock tech.

I get the feeling that the bottleneck in most IO games is the IO (no pun intended, the genre name comes from the TLD), which makes Node a good choice.

Sad for who? I have no cousins (or siblings) and don't find it sad at all. I had a great childhood.

I wasn't expecting this to be modd.io when I saw the title. It's a popular framework/platform for building IO games.

Sounds like you're looking for more hate and negativity, as if there's not already an abundance of toxic commentary on the internet. Optimism is rare.

I feel the opposite. I seldom ask them for anything directly but they are amazing at understanding the context and autocomplete highly app-specific code I was about to write anyway.

You have no mandate to prefix that with "of course" and you certainly have no mandate to insult the author for not believing in it.

The fact that you're getting downvoted says a lot. I have a really hard time taking all the praise seriously when you're not allowed to dislike or criticize this game. It feels like a cult.

I think the title is fine. It's a classic for good reasons and has been an eye-opener to a lot of devs falling into this exact trap, which you can do even if you're working alone. You overengineer a clean abstraction just to get b
