What, no hate for Matlab? Other than matrix math, data visualization and extensive libraries, it's a terrible language. Depending on the feature, it's either seriously lacking or a decade and a half out of date. Its support for basic things

Don't forget, there's an element of focus in meditation, though. Just doing a hobby, while beneficial and relaxing, isn't really meditation... unless your focused on what's happening in the moment while you're doing it. The everyday experie

This. I have the exact same problem. Praised for being smart from a young age (graduated high school at 16), left me with some bad habits about work and effort., and it's only been lately, that I've started to dismantle them. tl;dr Praising

No, I hadn't heard of it, but I was operating slightly higher, in cognitive neuroscience, and doing a lot of fMRI and intracranial EEG work. For those domains, the biggest packages are SPM and Fieldtrip, both of which run on Matlab. I do, h

You've hit the nail on the head. This is exactly why Matlab is so pervasive in science. Not because it's actually good, but because it has so many handy libraries. The Mathworks is the Microsoft of science. I had to use Matlab for seven yea
