I'm guessing it's because the creator, Hickey, is anti-inheritance, and the Clojure community as a whole is uncritical of him. I actually agree that inheritance can be tricky, but is still needed sometimes, especially for interop.

The Clojure concurrency model was the then-fashionable STM, which has largely not panned out anywhere. Luckily, atoms (based on a simple CAS) meet 99.9% of use cases.

Andy Ngo is a neo-nazi-friendly liar that claims everyone who criticizes him is antifa, and selectively edits his videos to distort the truth. Twitter threads of Ngo using selective video editing to make it seems like up is down: https:&#x

The issue for me wasn't that it was under-explained or anything. My issue is how jarringly out-of-place it feels. In the midst of a futuristic space opera, they shoehorn in a notorious serial killer from the Victorian era. JMS meant it

I hadn't thought of that, but maybe. There's some weird inaccuracies. The paragraphs on HTTP/1.0 makes it sound like images weren't sent before HTTP/1.0, but NCSA Mosaic was doing exactly that before HTTP/1.0.

Probably. HTTP/3 uses QUIC over UDP by default, to bypass some of TCP's flaws. It doesn't use TCP except as a fallback.

I see you've gone from recursion "can iterate asynchronously" to it "does do that by default". In most languages, recursion is not asynchronous, even if it could be, which is part of the point I was making. I'm

Fair warning, STM has largely not panned out in industry, and is no longer in common use. Clojure was built when it was still fashionable, but even having the advantage of immutable-by-default data structures, 99% of modern Clojure doesn&#x

Recursion doesn't do that by default, though. And if you have to alter your code to run recursive fns on a new thread or executor, nothing prevents you from doing something similar with a loop, either.

Red Dwarf wasn't really serialized. There's some key plot points at the beginning and season finales, but for the most part, each episode was a self-contained comedy, and things largely went back to normal next week. Neon Genesis

No, but it offers a lot of escape hatches to get closer to Java-level performance: transients, mutable fields with deftype, atoms, transducers to minimize intermediate sequences, type-hinting, Java interop, etc. I've seen Clojure sped
