Well, Drupal has multisite capability, too. I don't think using multisite is actually that good an idea. Having two separate websites be dependent on the same codebase is very prone to cause serious life cycle problems. I'd advice

Yep, it feels really sluggish. We benchmarked several tools to work as a documentation platform for our company. Notion was one of the candidates but it felt extremely slow and somehow really awkward to use. In the end we decided to use Sli

Yes. I just got myself a cheapo ThinkPad E15 to use as a backup computer if Apple somehow screws up my old MacBook Pro. Installed OpenSUSE Tumbleweed on the ThinkPad and everything seems to be working quite well (or at least predictably). T

XSLT is mainly used to transform XML into XML. The resulting document doesn’t have to be XML, though. I remember being assigned a task of parsing and importing a large XML document into a MySQL database. This was supposed to be done on PHP.

Logitech Options has an option to set the scroll direction. As I switch between a trackpad and a Logitech mouse the scroll direction is always set to whichever feels ”expected” to the pointing device I’m using. It was a joyous day to discov

Forestry does a lot more than just abstract away the Git operations. It has a very advanced front matter template system that makes it possible to build very complex content models while providing a nice and simple UI for managing content,

This is so true. Also, I see tremendous value in not being reliant on any of the three major cloud providers. They all kinda seem untrustworthy in their own, unique way. And also: That JOIN really tied the tables together.

I have a similarly specced iMac Pro and I use it for very similar tasks. Could not be happier with the machine. I think the RAM + the very speedy storage make this a great choice for the kind of dev work I do.

That final sentence caught my attention. I tried to make a daily habit of jogging. I really tried. I held on to the habit for more than two years before finally giving up. It just never started to feel good. Not a moment of it. Got any good

Well... There are lots of sites that just cannot be built using SSGs. Extranet and intranet sites need to work dynamically, as do other sites with user profiles and deep personalization.

Yup. Lots of Drupal sites use Solr. There are very good contributed modules that make using Solr with Drupal a doddle.

The iBook did look a lot like a toilet lid but some colors looked great on the G3 iMac. I used to own a graphite one and I think it still looks cool.

I fell in love with Capisco by HÅG. It’s a tad expensive but it’s very well made. I have one at home and one at the office and they are both like new after five years of daily use.

I suppose the thing that was peculiar at the time was that she was a female entrepreneur doing business in a male dominated industry. Women were probably seen as secretaries and in other ”supporting” roles (like coding) but ”big business” w

I was actually thinking about a designated shuffling area on the board. All cards moved to the shuffling area would be shuffled but the rest would be kept untouched. The area could surround the deck by default.

Love it! Is there a way to select which cards to shuffle? I tried to play solitaire (with house rules) but got stuck when I wanted to reshuffle the draw deck.

+1 for the electrostatic speakers. I bought a used pair of Martin Logans about ten years ago and I'm still totally in love with them. The model is Aerius i and they are from '99. Paid 1350 euros for them.

Umm... Well, you obviously can’t cache POST actions but you usually can cache a lot of the stuff in the response. The cache system in Drupal 8 is pretty awesome - especially when backed by Memcache or Redis. I’d say it’s quite easy to build

Judo seems like a great automation option for some simpler tasks where Ansible could be considered overkill. For me, that covers almost 100% of my remote automation needs. :) Nice!

I work at a Drupal shop so I'd probably just go with Drupal. Working with what you know is the fastest way to get stuff done. Drupal 8 is also quite a bit more elegant than the previous versions and the developer experience is pretty g

I was expecting to see more of Now in these comments. I don't have any real experience with it but it did seem like it would make deploying as simple as possible. Care to share any of your experiences with it?

My motto is: "Never not wearing a hoodie." It's actually gotten to a point where I find it physically (and mentally) very taxing when I wear something else. Luckily, Finnish summers are cold enough so I can keep wearing my pr

I've used CasperJS, PhantomCSS and PhantomJS for visual regression testing on dozens of Drupal sites and, while not a perfect solution by any means, it's worked pretty well. PhantomCSS seems to be pretty configurable and makes it

Or maybe not. Every change to the file would break the note association. I think the most robust way to do this would be to bind notes to inodes instead.

Well, there's the obvious benefit of tracking changes and it also provides a nice way to sync files selectively between computers.
