Albeit necessary to check the authenticity of components such as the TouchID sensor for security reasons, bricking the phones seems extreme. Why not simply disable Touch ID? This is them asking for a lawsuit.

I spent a couple of weeks developing a blogging system in Django last summer. Doing so allows for great customization and fits exactly my needs. It was more fun than writing actual blog content though.

I tried using PHP to scrape 50,000 webpages for a couple of fields, got it done in 4 hours, with scrapy it took 12 minutes. Been using it ever since.

Yes it is down to the environment but right now we don't know what these environmental exposures are. I've always considered "chance" and "luck" in science to simply be a placeholder for the unknown.
