I think aiming for YC long term is smart, but YC doesn't really take ideas anymore as far as I know. To increase your odds of getting in you still need to do all the things that you would do anyway: build a prototype, get some users (p

Google Calendar and Tasks - the integrated one. The trick to making google calendar work is putting literally everything on there, from work to personal tasks, to events, to little notes for later. Tasks works especially well with recurring

I dunno, that kinda makes sense to me if you think about the structure of a business. An elite CEO makes the most critical decisions that can be easily worth billions either positive or negative. An elite engineer makes a stellar project su

I'm an academic researcher that studies nonprofits and trust me, you are not alone in thinking this. But the problem with charities constraining themselves to their original narrow mandate is that this leads to tiny nonprofits trying t

Do any of these tablets sync with Endnote? I am an academic and organize research using Endnote, and I would need the tablet to pull and sync with my endnote.

Ok but the last 6 years the market has generally only gone up. If you are doing technical analysis, you would expect to actually be profitable in an expansionary period. The problem is if you trade the same way in a deflationary period you

All it means is that they can use the funds as they see fit. There should be a breakdown somewhere on their site of what % of funds go toward development verse admin/fundraising as they are a 501c3.

Dems problem with requiring ID is that it just so happens that those proposals are always alongside attempts to make it more difficult for poor people to get IDs in the first place. Dems would have no issue requiring ID if republicans wou

I knew someone that used the vidangel service, but I don't really get it. If you remove the cursing/sex/violence from much of the works that use them, does it not remove context that is necessary? You mention ASoIaF, which is

I dunno, I have an intense fandom for certain artists and when they release new music I like to listen with my higher quality headphones, at home in peace and quiet to really take it in as fully as possible. Though this is only for maybe 3

I had an extremely easy gov contractor job that paid really well, used my skills, and I worked with great people. I still was living for being off work. Decided to pursue a PhD, which requires about 20x effort but I like coming to the offic

Typically non profits will advertise this type of thing, essentially a program ratio of 100%. This is positively correlated with total donations. Usually the way to work around this is to have a large benefactor that agrees to use their fun

Unfortunately I can't recommend any particular book to learn economics alone. I don't learn best this way and I feel I got basically all of my knowledge through my coursework. I'd honestly recommend a course. Even an online o

I could've written this exact comment after I read this book, but I actually wouldn't recommend this. I read it right before I did my economics degree, and it really warped my view of the "right way" to think about econ.
