Yeah, I'd love to do that kind of stuff for a living. Not sure if I'd be good enough though. I'm fluent in x86 assembly and do quite a lot of debugging on that level, but reverse engineering remains a tough problem.

As far as I know, they don't emulate Xbox 360 games on Xbox One, they port and compile it for the new console, creating entirely new binaries. Not much emulation going on there. Correct me if I'm wrong. EDIT: https://en

Am I the only one who just wants their desktop to look like Windows 95 for the next 50 years? Except maybe a bit more bit depth and DPI. This design is simply unsurpassed and everything new that comes out is a step back. There is one featur

You're right. I didn't want to mention precision because it's a whole other can of worms, but one worth knowing how to deal with. I was looking at it from a mathematician's point of view, using rational numbers.

You also have a similar problem when you render opaque, rectangular images without the clamp edge mode, and the renderer is in tiling mode, so the borders wrap around when your picture is halfway between pixels and become a mix between the

People who disregard other people's property and cause vast destruction because of their ideology are never right. I have no respect for them. There are non-destructive ways to bring your message across in this situation. A society wit

Another clear example of someone who did not comprehend my point, writing a message in disagreement when in fact it is precisely what I meant. Sigh... Interacting with other humans is difficult.

You cannot remove the burden to think for oneself from people. Fining people who give wrong advice sets a really dangerous precedent. What is wrong? Will we start fining climate change deniers? What about fining people who believe that cert

Nobody who is not mentally disabled and owns a PC with an internet connection "wants to learn to code but can't". What about showing initiative and teach yourself with one of the infinite resources available on the internet?

Idk why I'm being downvoted either. I bet in 2 years there will be a blog post which refines the idea I outlined above and it will be on top of HN and everyone will agree with it. That's how HN works.

I don't know why HFT exists at all. I would just pass a law that forces a bit of random latency/noice in the market data, in the order of seconds (in a similar way as GPS has artificial inaccuracy). Normal people are not gonna not
