This. Just buy an NVidia shield and use your TV as a monitor. The UI and the fact that it uses AndroidTV and not some shitty Samsung OS is reason alone to buy it. Also my Samsung TV gets a start signal from my NVidida Shield so I do not eve

Does it have a time limitation? I mean if this has the power of a Nvidia 1080 for 13€/month one could surely use this as a blender renderfarm 24/7...

Have you ever tried QtCreator? I tried CLion and VS but all feel slower in my CMake based c++ projects.

I switched my SE to DDG on my mobile devices. It is 100% useless when I want to search for local news/events from my country/city (Southern Germany) and I always have to fall back to Google. What's quite funny is that last mo

I can only second this. My open source side project [1] UI is written in QML. The best feature of QML is that it forces you to separate your UI and your c++ core logic. [1] https://screen-play.app/ (Live wallpaper)

Give it a try. I have been using Affinity Designer since 2017 and never looked back. Took me only about a day to learn because it is so similar to Photoshop! I use it mostly for SVG and UI design related stuff for my open source wallpaper a

For HN why this release is important: * Qt essential killed LTS for non paying customers starting with this release (but Qt stills stays GPL/LPGL and Commercial). You still will be get these fixes but only in the next minor version [1]

Sure but they will not contain the most recent versions of Qt/QtCreator. Also many of us Qt developer still need to develop Windows specific stuff... I guess vcpkg is the way to go here. What would be funny though if someone would setu

No QtQuick3d [1] was from the beginning GPLv3 only (It is not even released yet, but Qt 5.14 release is tommorow). It is a bit awkward because now there are competing 3d engines inside one toolkit. [1] https://doc-snapshots.qt.io

When distributing qt on android you can simply write an guide on how to decompile the apk, replace the qt .so and compile it again. I haven't done it yet so I'm not 100% sure about this. Also you could simply install ministro for

Nope as a QML developer 5.14 is bare minimum because of the many changes like proper 4k scaling support, Splitview, Table support, way better Android build, usable Qt3d and many quality of life improvements.
