Reminds me of that comic. "Maybe we should improve the world somewhat".

Your argument is flawed in that it assumes knowing algorithms has any correlation to doing well on the job. It doesn't really matter that it's language agnostic if it doesn't test anything useful.

What does that change for the hotel at the end of the day? Cleaning a room that's been dirty for a week is the same (if not more) effort than cleaning it every day, considering they can't just hire staff for one day of the week.

For the people on Linux using ultrawides, I recomment Xephyr at 1080p. You can put whatever you want to stream in there, and still have the real estate of the rest of your screen. It's super nice :)

I don't think they've ignored VMs. In fact the very game I mentioned before refuses to run in VMWare and VirtualBox, even though I've managed to run it on Qemu out of the box. Though I'm not sure if it's incompetenc

Interesting. I actually have a GPU-passthrough and regularly play a japanese MMO with a similarly invasive rootkit. I haven't actually tried Valorant, but I might when I have some time out of curiosity.

Does it actually work though? What's stopping me from running the game in a virtual machine with GPU-passthrough and emulating inputs?

Do you think anyone in Brazil drives for Uber by choice? The Civil Engineers and Lawyers who can't find jobs in their fields? I have a friend who got a masters in Chemical Engineering 5 years ago and to this day sells cupcakes for a li

Please enlighten us on how you would negotiate "good terms" (as in, not being a figurative slave) with Uber.

I had the exact same experience and reached the same conclusion. After starting therapy and taking medication for the severe anxiety I developed because of that experience, I remembered what it's like to be "normal" and decid

I don't like Twitter's UX either, but to get to the rest of the thread you just scroll down? Isn't that how we've always viewed documents on the internet?

Did you read the link you posted? There's no shift of burden of proof, as all the maintainer would have to do is answer "No". I agree that there are people who do this in bad faith, but the question seemed totally reasonable

There were no accusations. Someone asked a fair question. The maintainer clearly overreacted.

Wait until you find out about Doom, which I consider to be all the good of Spacemacs without the crust.

You could also use a glade file and only worry about functionality on the code itself. It's not too bad.

Out of all the differences between the US and China you chose to talk about imperialism and racism, some of the few things both have in common. Interesting.

I don't think the people who think gay marriage isn't a defensible position are particularly fond of Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. At least they shouldn't be, for the reasons you cited and a myriad of others.

Well, for what it's worth I've been programming professionally for 4 years and never had to write fibonacci even one. I think doing something that's more immediately alike what you'll be doing in the project is more prod

How does implementing Fibonacci weed out people who can't program at all? Spending hours doing Leetcode is far from a reliable assessment of someone's programming skills.

As much as I can agree to this, for me personally it wouldn't be worth it to work at a place where clearly defining your feelings and letting your coworkers know is seen as a weakness. In many of my interviews I've had no problem

Fair enough, but some of the worst offenders of this aren't really targeted at children or something they'd be interested in. The new Github UI (which I adore, besides this particular issue) is a really bad offender for example. I

This is only tangentially related, but one thing I'm absolutely sick of is rounded corners. I don't know why, and I don't know if it makes any sense, but opening a page and seeing literally everything with border-radius mak
