Feels like the right move. The whole point of VPN is to maintain some level of privacy. If all that data is logged and is to be produced on demand, Proton can’t really claim to be a VPN company.

Looks like you just want Heroku. And I’ve never seen the Fly team mention that they are aiming to be a Heroku replacement. So maybe it’s just not for you?

This is bad. Australia isn't know for it's strong privacy laws anyway, but with the kind of data that's now available out there, ID theft is going to be a huge risk for almost half the country. Even if Optus gets sued, how th

As the most visible monarch of our times, I do wonder if the % of world population that will mourn her (either as colonizers or allies), will be greater than the % that will bade good riddance (as the colonized).

One of the companies I worked for had a similar personality test during on-boarding. The reasoning was it will be used to match up team members to get the "right balance". Of course it was never used or spoken of again, so maybe t

Congratulations. Don't ask this question on the internet, and if you already have, don't read the answers. Babies are unique - your experience may be wildly different. While it's true that they will be the biggest commitment

Is it really surprising at this point? Most closed systems won't really bother fixing things that ain't broken, especially if its not connected to the internet. If the machinery can be hacked and commandeered remotely, we know the

I just started using echo for a personal project - just a boring old server rendered webapp. Overall, it has some niceties which can save a lot of time. The documentation and cookbook cover the most common usage patterns. I like that it doe

Maybe HN doesn't need all of that? Where/how HN is hosted is the least interesting thing about the orange site IMO.

Are cover letters still a thing in the tech industry? I’ve not written a single cover letter since my first job in the late 2000s and haven’t seen one when hiring. Although I’m sure there are industries or cultures where it’s still expected

Question for people who actually use SQLite in production: when do you start seeing performance degrade to the extent that you have to migrate to a "proper" DB? Can a transactional table scale to say 10 million+ records with a cou

I should've quoted my previous response. My reply was to this quote of yours: > Can I sue them for poisoning the life of my kids? They are teaching kids that lying is ok, after all.
