This strikes me as a clever anti-competitive measure. You flood the web with cheap clones who have small user bases and low quality, and no one can gain enough traction to overtake your site.

You know, a person can always CALL on a 'telephone' and speak to someone from LinkedIn in person. After dealing with a short wait period, you will get to talk to someone who will help you, thus avoiding the nastiness in court.

Actually, these test results were not able to be reproduced even by the author(s). So while it was predictive of the set of people the paper was written for, unfortunately it isn't any use outside of that. Citation - Second comment by the

Why, subterfuge! That way whenever anyone accuses them of having a disinformation blog campaign, they can point to their open source project to deflect blame. Wheels within wheels.

As most readers here already know, scribd is a YCombinator startup, so it's a useful feature for news.YC to have.

Question: if a publisher pays the author 4-6x the revenues brought in for the book, wouldn't that mean that on any 'good' books, they're losing money to publish them? Or am I missing something?

A friend of mine speaks highly of Lulu books as well, says the ones he printed out were the same quality as one you'd get mass produced from a major publisher.

Funny, I find just the opposite to be true for me. Formulas in code are easy to understand while math in notational form isn't.

Does this mean that implementations of the algorithms in PCI won't work as well as something one would write if they first learned all the deep math those techniques are built on? If so, then sure this is a problem. Otherwise, then the 'd

Ada has a pretty impressive record in safety critical systems; something that cannot be said of C. Aircraft software systems and many air traffic control systems in particular are all written in Ada.

How is the thesis good? The thesis states: average developers are too dumb to grok object-oriented programming so that some alternative simpler method for data hiding and encapsulation needs to be adopted. Only the really smart people sho

You're posting this problem to the wrong place. There are too many enthusiasts in the Ruby/Rails and Django camps for you to get a reasonably straight answer. Instead of asking here, I suggest that you pick a subset of your project that ca
