I'm currently doing a CS degree entirely over the web at my local university. I already completed 4 classes and I have an easier to time to focus and learn than when I was in class with other students, in which case I was constantly distrac

I didn't read the article other than the comparison with all those great minds. I don't feel that concerned when it comes to comparing myself to such persons. I mean, should I have been the next Einstein, I would have know before reaching m

The difference probably stands in what it's meant to protect. If it gets stolen, it's not only a car, it's the key to your personal identity, along with maybe bank account, email, work secrets, etc. Losing that key would stress me much more

You can also check Tuts+ free tutorial about ST2. It contains a list of interesting plugins (most of them mentionned in this article) alongside others I find quite useful. https://tutsplus.com/course/improve-workflow-in-sublime-text...

I never understood why there are so many sites using infinite scroll bars. I don't find it useful to navigate. When I want to find something in the feed after a few days, I need to scroll like crazy. At least, pages offered some time frame

It is essentially what Zed Shaw propose in his "Learn Code The Hard Way" books. It definitely helps to type in everything and can be applied in almost anything we need to learn. It's this memorization trick teachers usually told us to do, b

It's indeed very motivating to read/hear such things. Still, there is always this underlying fear of failure that stays present, and this fear is somehow difficult to overcome. After all, of all the dreams people have, of all the people wor

Expecting the worst case scenario has always seemed more logical. The best case scenario is implied, while the worst can often be overlooked which can lead to hard-to-deal-with situations. Concerning the goal, from what I understand it conc

When searching for nomic on github, there are a couple of nomic projects using pull requests to propose rules and fork to know who's involved. Yet, they seem empty at the moment. I'd be interested in seeing such project working though.

To your list of key things, I'd add what you described in the first half of your comment: find where you want to be in your professional life. Not where you work or anything alike, but which role (in the chain of command) you want to fulfil

I believe that the way we perceive our lives depend on our conception of death. I've always believed that once we die, it's over and we are as unconscious as we were before our birth. Unfortunately, this belief made me see everything pointl

I probably mis-worded my thoughts. I did not meant "it's true for x therefore it's true for the whole set". It's definetly not something we can generalize. At least, we can say that he's not completely wrong. Nevertheless, I still believe t

I totally agree with this article. I've been playing a lot of video games in the past, always with the T.V. on, all while doing my homeworks and reading my school notes. I failed a few classes during that period of my life, and I finished p

I'm currently in a Computer Science University program that I'm doing Online and it pains me to see so many high grades. For instance, on one of the C++ homework we had, the median was 100%. It's fun to have good grades when deserved, but s
