I’ve had the same experience. Moreover, had to deal with some questionable code from colleagues which looked fine during reviews but as soon as you use it within context the control flow is totally out of whack resulting in by the weirdest

Or “is an element within viewport”, we now have IntersectionObserver for that sort of stuff. I guess it could be combined with the rects but if I remember correctly, the logic would fail if the element was bigger than the viewport.

I’m the same here. React with TS just makes sense as it is. We have a mix of class and functional components which can easily be understood. State lives here, logic goes there, render, done! It does become tricky when you start adding thing
