Agree with you as well. I think the article really has been misinterpreted by most of those responding here.

Too busy and too much information is my initial thought. I'd also probably have the two-column video section switched to the right instead of left. Also to me, the vids are the fluff of the page, and makes the product information I want to

Not everyone gets the Amazon shipping rates. Shipping is actually one of the toughest areas to try and compete in for a small ecommerce site, and it's probably the number one complaint received since people have come to expect free or extre

I use MyYahoo, and have for what seems like forever. I have never understood the appeal of the blank Google page as I like to see the latest news feeds (NY Times, BBC, and such). I tried iGoogle, but still prefer the MyYahoo layout. I also

Overall, regardless of guilt or no guilt, the fault of Google is lack of notice or ability to contact them for any kind of explanation or resolution. I'm glad this guy sued and won. This is not the first instance I've heard of this inabilit

One of my problems with the H1B system is there is no real limitation on what companies and positions qualify. You should not have H1B's for consulting/contract programmer firms ( http://www.inc.com/magazine/20070901/how-i-did-it-prathiba-r

The post linked is from October 2008. It's now March 2009. Is there any more current information? I dismissed the article as soon as I saw it was outdated.

My first thought as well as soon as I saw 'popular'. That's really all it takes to rule Opera out of consideration. I really doubt many outside of a tech environment have ever even heard of Opera. I still am surprised at those unaware of Fi

Agree. It's especially annoying when the video link is not marked as such on the newspaper site. I immediately bounce back. If I wanted video I'd be elshewhere.

This reminds me of what the owners of Kingston Technology did when they sold their company back in the 90s. They allocated a large sum to be distributed to the employees, and also were helping employees with startups. I think they eventuall

As I started reading the article my very first thought went to Lotus Notes (never developed in it, but had friends that did). I agree with you, that they are complementary models is probably a better approach to the comparison.

I'd say we're already there, and have never really left it. In my opinion. the noble/serf arrangement has always been in place in America. I did a bike ride across the country about 10 years ago, and it was eye opening. Much different than

I think the overall question is what problem is the wiki a solution too, and is it the best solution? What information is the non-IT user really having to disseminate to others? What value is it truly providing? How have you made adding the

I agree here. A Wiki does not seem to be a good base for a 'holiday booking' tool. Of course, personally, I've always been a fan of Lotus Notes for being able to adapt applications like this to the normal workflow of an office.

I bypassed most of the article, but as for the favicon, I think it's an improvement. The previous blue lower-case 'g' was just bad. This syncs with the colors of their logo, and is distinctive.

This is the wrong assumption as to why the wife wanted him to get a job at wal-mart or the like. Sometimes any additional income is better than no income, especially when it comes to having food on the table or not.

Exactly. If you remove the pensions that are lumped in with all the reported hourly rates, it is not that big of a difference, and what is there is in the healthcare benefits not hourly pay rate. I think the Republicans were just happy that

I'm just trying to move back into I.T., and even entry-level positions are asking for 2-3 years of experience. I'd say there are probably a lot of underemployed programmers since getting the foot in the door is tougher these days.
