And he's very clear there should be 100x more companies making video content. My contention is that video is a horrible way, usually, to convey information. More companies means more video. That's a pretty horrible idea, actually.

I'd say that safety certainly has a price point where people will change their minds, even if they don't want to admit it.

As I have mentioned before, you don't expect your automobile insurance, even full coverage, to pay for a tuneup. Expecting medical insurance to pay for regular care is just inserting a middleman that extracts value while increasing cos

Thank you. If you don't mind another dumb question, is the benefit great enough for the hassle of complaints and the possible compromise of ostensibly private information? There are self-hosted solutions, but I imagine they'd enta

Oh, Microsoft certainly helped sink them, but I'm of the opinion that Netscape was gleefully poking holes in their ship at the same time. I never did figure out what Communicator actually was meant to do. Someone likened it to ActiveSc

In some places, laws already work sort of like that. Except for emergency bills, they can't take effect until something like 180 days after congress has had their final session. It makes perfect sense, to me at least, for taxation regu

That works. Anything I make, at least for money, gets donated or given away, pretty much. Some of the things I do result in my being given things like lasagna and fresh baked bread as payment. I eat that. I'd be crazy not to.

It's not popular to voice this, but some of Netscape's fall was due to self-inflicted wounds. In the end, they'd piled a package together called Netscaoe Communicator and it had become a bloated and buggy mess. They weren

My comment was about them asserting there should be 100x the video content. Why should there be? It's a pretty horrible way to share information, in all but a few situations.

Why should there be 100x more? Video is not optimal for lots of information. It's not interactive or easy to cite and reference. It is bandwidth intense and typically has a lower information density per byte than text has. There are pl

I wonder how long the modern idea of debt has existed? Mainly, that idea of owing someone something, (often) at a later date? The concept of zero isn't even 5000 years old. Negative numbers were still being debated in the 1700s, though
