I have wanted HN to have a friend/foe system since I first found the site. I'd also like it to have the ability to make notes, like 'farkies' from Fark. On Slashdot, you simply add them to a friend or for list. On Fark,

I lost access to my first account because I lost access to the email address. This was quite a while back and it was a moniker less able to be tied to me. So, I eventually stopped posting as AC and signed up with my 'real' moniker

I haven't looked into it for a while, but AMD often supports ECC so long as the motherboard supports it. I haven't checked the current lineup, but looked at it for my last home-server build. I agree with you entirely, to be sure.

I'm not comfortable attempting to force my morality on other people and other cultures, and I think it detracts from our ability to be objective. I personally dislike zoos and don't visit them. At the same time, I'm not comfo

I think Kenya is one place where poaching is a capital crime. They issued a shoot to kill order some years ago. It made the news and I'm not sure of the efficacy of such programs. Importantly, this isn't poaching. This was lawful

I don't know if that's what they are saying, but I would say that. Tragic though the Vegas shooting was, humans aren't an endangered species. Don't get me wrong, I happily hunt and fish. I clean and process dead animals

The article indicates these elephants were taken legally. So, in this case, I'm pretty sure we aren't actually discussing poachers.

Because of your question mark, I decided to look it up. Agriculture began about 12,000 to 10,000 years ago. It's not much different than 6,000 years and I only mention it because of your question mark. Here is a link, if you're cu

I figured you were absolutely willing to take questions from the general public. Now, the average person seems woefully unaware of this. To them, the science and scientists seem unapproachable. They've stacked scientists up on a pedest

When I was a young child, I used to daydream about winning a Nobel. I didn't daydream about winning an Emmy or a Grammy, but I did dream of winning a Nobel. (And Formula 1 championship races, but that's not important right now.) D

Ah, okay. Thanks. A judge can kick a specific attorney out of the courtroom, but I think the standards are pretty high for doing so. I don't know if that's just custom or an established rule. Judges have some awesome powers inside
