Someone should put this online as a service and allow things like batch processing. I'd pay for that.

When I first used networked computers, you paid someone to do searches for you and got a reply in 3 to 7 days. It pretty much sucked, honestly. Translation was obscenely expensive and not much better than Google can do today. You paid by th

Browsing vs. searching. We don't seem to do much browsing anymore. We search and selectively pick what we consume. It's faster but, as you say, I don't think it is as fun. I used to enjoy picking a subject and then clicking a

It's a philosophical work about leavers and takers and what is the nature of both nature and humans, as well as their role in it. It's told from the perspective of a man taking instruction from a speaking ape. It is something I&#x

Do you have any more info on the restaurants per capita? Google isn't very helpful. I ask only out of mild interest. The village closest to me has ~30 and just 1200 residents. However, it's a tourist town and there are zero franch

As a fellow alum, you summed it up nicely. I did my full eight years there, so I can't compare. But, what mattered to me was that I was always encouraged to question, always encouraged to excel, and always allowed to discover. I think

Thanks. I actually have a Ph.D. in mathematics. It's just that I dislike programming. I've done it, I don't like it. When I started using computers, knowing how to program was close to mandatory.

I'm kind of fond of the idea of people paying a percentage of their income after they get their degree and for X number of years. I think that's a fantastic idea. For needed professions, it could be X - Y number of years. Inexpens

Union carpenters can make pretty good money, actually. Once you get some seniority, the rate improves nicely. Finish carpenters make pretty good wages. They average $76,000/year, which is not that bad depending on where you live. You c

The above should count as tax avoidance and interest rates can be decided by the parties involved. Tax evasion is illegal. Tax avoidance is legal. Consult a qualified tax professional and legal council.

This whole story sounds horrifically dangerous and unlikely to be approved of with regards to zoning and building inspectors. By that, I mean I'm a tad bit green with envy.
