You seem to know a lot about weather, so apologies if this comes off as a stupid question. What value add do companies such as AccuWeather and others provide over simply going to weather.gov? Is their UI simply better, or do they run their

It surprises me that the chain cuts so neatly - if you look at the images the cuts look rather clean and surgical. I would have expected it to be more of a crushing and jagged cut. The gear used in these large scale engineering ops is absol

I volunteered as an election judge in a neighboring county (Hello from DuPage County) and can affirm much of tptacek's post. Having the experience of an election judge, I'm not worried about anyone trying to steal the election, th

I fully expect to see another economic dip within the next 2-4 months. We've learned nothing from the previous corona wave and this winter is only going to exacerbate it due to everyone staying inside.

I signed up for IFTTT Pro for $4/month - as the article says, I think the suggested $10/month is too much, but there is definite value in what IFTTT provides. IFTTT is great for quickly moving data around, but I wish there was a z

Note that the article is about optimizing a Gatsby site for SEO; it's not a general SEO tips site, of which there are many. With that said, it's quite amusing how small SEO changes can dramatically improve search visibility. It&#x

Glad I completed my Hacktoberfest requirements earlier; a little bummed that the shirt will invariably = low quality contributors. A better way to do this IMO would be to kick off a year long contest; for example: you sign up, every week yo

Very happy with Porkbun ( https://porkbun.com/ ). Newer registrar, but their console is clean, nice looking, and it's easy to update settings.

Wow, TIL! Thanks for the link. I haven't been in downtown Chicago since the middle of March; my employer is keeping us at home until at least 2021.

Out of curiosity, when you're doing a SOC2 compliance review, are your relying on their documentation of security measures, or would you check to see that the documentation matches the security measures that are in place?
