Do you know of an example of a commonly used application which uses the emacs-driven functionality you're referencing, but where the application isn't generally used inside of emacs itself? I.e. do you know of a widely-used progra

Very nice! Will check out your repo, but this requires Pocket Casts Plus, right? (I don't have one, I purchased the Android app a long long time ago, but do not have access to the web player at all AFAIK).

As the other comment mentioned, yes, this only contains a very short and not very useful list of the podcast subscriptions which if you have ~50 podcasts you subscribe to is easy to even manually resubscribe to, it doesn't have any of

That's a nice and unexpected bit of news for the day. I've been using Pocket Casts for awhile, it's indeed a very nice app, and other than the UI tumult from a few years back has been pretty reliable. I was a bit disappointed

You're implying (or assuming) that users who use terminals don't care about visual perfection or design or something. I'm not sure what makes you think that way, I certainly answer "yes" to your question about wheth

Yes, truth values of paradoxes cannot be determined, but it's you who called it a paradox. On its face, it isn't a paradox. If we're being pedantic, which your initial response struck me as, there are again true statements wi

Things which are true but not provable aren't paradoxes, they're simply unprovable.

Continuing the hypothetical without really knowing about today's filesystems, such a system could presumably calculate a moving per page, fd or process- compression factor and turn it down or up if it started seeing lots of incompressi

I think this is the wrong way to think about computing, though I sympathize, because I also used to think this way until I reflected on a podcast I'd heard about how when the computer mouse was invented, it's little known that a s

Do what makes you happy, but just in case you weren't aware, vim supports editing over SSH natively, so there's not really a need to skimp just because you need to edit files remotely, you can use your local machine's setup t

It depends what kind of person you are, how much energy you want to invest, how much patience you have for stuff that isn't the code you're writing, how much you enjoy editing itself, etc. I have a quite extensive setup ( https:&#

I got $550 from this yesterday (as did a few others I asked, so I think the dollar amount was the same for everyone). Not life changing but certainly always a nice way to start the day, with some unexpected $$.

Again, the key is block vs allow by default, not whether it's per application. But yes there's real world use cases for per application filtering -- you want Facebook messenger to reach Facebook.com but probably not any other appl

I would claim to know less than nothing about what's happening here, but to press a bit on the analogy -- aren't there workloads where clearly you're going to be more sure about what's happening? E.g. consider a bastion

If you mean GNU parallel, it has way way more features than xargs -P, (and a few saner defaults). See e.g. https://www.gnu.org/software/parallel/parallel_tutorial.html If you mean moreutils parallel, yeah I agree
