I know what it means better than most. I also know that it's application as a means of establishing liberal identity as opposed to basic historical facts is a long time feature of our empire. Liberals punch down at leftists. Someone qu

Thanks for the correction. I think it would have been better for me to say that counter-intelligence operations in the country have long intentionally colored inconvenient facts as wild conjecture, regardless of their historical foundation.

There are three types of people circling around conspiracy theories. 1) Literate people who care about history and know that industry does what's best for profit at all costs. 2) People who don't read much looking for a hobby. 3)

I wouldn't say most. And I'm no fan of echo chambers. We have to expect a certain amount of industry support in any mainstream social context. The notion that the problem is the "academic/philanthropic complex" come

People who honestly believe that the world was created in 4004 BC are quite free in this country to imagine that facts have a liberal bias. But that doesn't make it true. But really, this is a question of alignment to industrial values

Someone those businesses hired sold them on shortcuts that are just bad. Trading UX for production speed isn't a thing. Claiming bad UX is a business decision isn't a thing. Bad UX is bad for business. Sure, some of these concerns

Where exactly do people say Mariguana? Not in Mexico. If you over-pronounce Spanish the J catches in your throat a bit, but it's still an H sound.

“You want to know what this [war on drugs] was really all about? The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I’m saying? We knew we couldn’t make

We can talk about alignment of LLMs. We can also talk about alignment of people who write Wikipedia. To imagine there is no bias is foolish and dangerous. More accurate isn't truth. More accurate for whom?

I don't get the down votes. Blackrock owns a good 10% of every industry. That's not controversial. So the possibility that they would have their hand in right wing businesses isn't a stretch.
