countElements(string) returns the number of Unicode code points in a string. I'm not sure about the random character, though. Swift is very much oriented towards Unicode rather than bytes when it comes to strings.

3 and 4 are similar enough, and the wiki has a porting guide, so it shouldn't make much of a difference. Besides, 4 is probably too new to have a book, anyways.

BSD isn't Linux. Android uses the Linux kernel, but not iOS. I'm not sure which dominates, though

My first thought was that this would be like iOS constraints, which position elements on the screen. This is more of a dynamic templater. I'd be interested to see the performance of this

I just recently started using vim, and I must say it is my new favorite text editor. I find myself using hjkl at an annoying frequency in various GUIs, though.

I hope a bunch of other large projects leave SF now. I truly hate those ads, but SF certainly didn't need to add their own installer. Over all, it is an obnoxious service. s/adds/ads/ in the title
