This is pretty unrealistic. We can make those rules, but wealth and social position can influence so many people moreso than many other sensible factors.

I wish math compiled. It would be a hell of a lot easier to figure out if I did it properly. It doesn't seem feasible for most fields though.

Charge 10k-12k and use the extra funds to run a study large enough for a placebo group (say, 50% get placebo and a small sum of $$$ for their time).

There's some crazy speculation about the whole deal. One more simple and obvious optimization is stuff like Amazon Go that could replace the need for cashiers.

Don't discount the power of the placebo effect. Psychedelics could easily be the most powerful placebo one might take.

I've seen composer's sketchpad before and found it really interesting. I'll have to give it a real try.

I do this, but I googled it first to know that the recursive option actually exists and what it is called. Those man pages are decent references, but are usually useless for actually learning the tool.

It's unusual for them to be entrepreneurs in anything with a high barrier to entry. Instead they have to become entrepreneurs (and take on extra risk) because they can't easily get other jobs.

Could we build this into a P2P-like model where there are some supernodes that do the actual aggregation?

Pretty much. It's batch learning; they train small batches on the phones and upload the differences. It looks like they have a fancy way to keep the data compressed, train during ideal times and encrypting the data until it gets averag

Considering they called it 'auto-destructive' art; I think the point was that it would eventually be thrown away on accident. I love this.

For b) we get the worst of both worlds. The US government pays one of the highest costs per person AND it costs the individual an exorbitant amount. Without significantly better outcomes.

You may be right. But our government still pays into healthcare as much as Sweden, but then we pay out of pocket on top of it. How much marginal value is gained from the huge expense?

Hasn't worked for single payer healthcare yet. Nobody brings up that almost every other country's government pays less than the US.

Worked for many other countries. Seems to be quite a bit cheaper for individuals and nations as well. Not sure if it will work on a state level though.

I suspect that this is partly because we share our media experiences with other people. I don't usually watch movies ( there's some niche stuff that I love) , but I've found that watching one or two a year helps me keep up a
