I think everyone knew (the NSA exists after all; wiretaps were a thing for beating mobsters). It's just the extent; we expect it to be more targeted than saving ALL the phone records.

I think you would be saved by rephrasing to indicate a particular computer scientist. People are getting overly pedantic.

Look, I haven't read the book in particular. All I'm saying is that the success outcome of a book has completely different requirements than the success outcome of an academic paper. It's entirely possible that the most well-

I just want them to be friendlier to indie devs. It's better, but not ideal. Nintendo has interesting control schemes and game design could benefit from being able to experiment with them in the form of game jams or smaller niche title

Can confirm. Have a circadian rhythm disorder where I pretty much can't wake up earlier intentionally; very common in teens, but occasionally it sticks as an adult. In my case I actually cycle around, living >24 hour days left compl

Is there anywhere that extremely well thought out and detailed short stories could thrive? I want to find those. I've read plenty of long books in my lifetime.

Came to say something along these lines. Often books say very little in as many words as possible. Part of a 'more stuff for your money' philosophy. Textbooks have this problem as well until you hit graduate subjects.

Those aren't a list of symptoms, but instead an outcome what happens given typical depression symptoms coupled with teen behavior (and not knowing how to handle the feeling). Actually, social isolation is a fairly typical symptom of de

Facebook depression is (surprise) regular depression. With all the regular symptoms which includes suicide. The only difference is that (heavy?) Facebook users are more likely to suffer from it. If you want to argue against it, I recommend

My guess is that the network wouldn't recognize as much stuff effectively and might not look as identifiable. Like an ADHD brain with too much stuff going on. Might look really cool actually; I'd try it.

Sorry for not finding a name, but there's an early hominid (divergent from us, but not an ancestor) that ate C4 grasses and had the jaw shape for it. They are now extinct. Point being that we can't extrapolate from other species (

At this point we need more techies who are willing to go into politics. Before, everything could be solved with technology and nobody really understood how to enforce things. Now everything is becoming centralized and the people in power (p

What? Looking at other apes is a poor indicator. What an animal eats has to do with it's environment and it's digestion mechanisms. Some apes largely ate grasses. Nutrients matters, but largely is solved by eating a varied diet. Y

Being a teenager is a similar offense. In my teen days we drew the attention of 8 police officers (who circled the building) by sitting nearby a police officers wife who apparently didn't like our language. Mostly just frisked for drug

Clinical depression isn't a requirement. Exhibiting symptoms of depression (as stated) is all that is necessary. Clinical just means it's recurring at a regular interval.

I would love a skit on the current NSA. Have an old Russian/Nazi operative on a stakeout with a NSA guy who points out that we don't have to bug phones or do stakeouts anymore. Culminates in reading the e-mail of the operative to
