ST can do all these things. Search by regex, the "Find All" command inserts a cursor selecting each result, then you can do all the usual text editing operations on each selection in parallel. It has sorting and the like built in,

Ground loops are very odd phenomena that can be hard to debug, but it will probably work. (The stupid option is to lift the ground on your mains adapter, but you really shouldn't do that, somebody might get killed.)

For me the gifs only play during mouseover, with a ~300ms delay. I didn't notice them at all.
