Thanks! Good to hear you enjoy it on your 13' screen, one of my goals was to increase the usability of Reddit on mobile devices. Right margin is not left for ads, it's there because another box couldn't fit (try to play with your browser wi

Thanks for the feedback. 1. Good suggestion! I'll put it on my todo and see if it's possible. 2. Not sure if you saw it, but it is possible to hover the box and see the votes (bottom right). Most popular content is rendered on top (in some

Thanks, what do you exactly mean with dynamic width? Do you mean for each box other widths?

Thanks! Also give other subreddits a try, /r/listentothis ( http://www.scrolldit.com/?r=listentothis ) or /r/itookapicture ( http://www.scrolldit.com/?r=itookapicture ), those really show the power of the UI. Another thing to try is to visi

Mmm, I need to rely on external JSONp services, since I've to code everything clientside to keep it scalable. I'm not sure how I could fix this, anyone an idea?

Just pushed out a new version with support for text snippets! Expect it within 10 minutes :) You like it?

    by JonathanBouman 15y ago

That is true. I haven't found an elegant solution for that, do you've a good idea? I thought about only loading new content when the 'scrolldit' logo is visible for a user.

Could be that your connection is a bit slow. It preloads the images (in order to fetch width & height) before it renders them. On slow 3G connections it could take a minute. I advice you to use wifi. Does it work after F5?

Subreddit example: http://www.scrolldit.com/?r=pics/new Everything is clientside javascript. Amazon Cloudfront is used as hosting (See http://aaronblohowiak.com/using-amazon-s3-and-cloudfront-to-... ). So scalability issues are impossibl

There are a few interesting points about this: First, my server is located in The Netherlands, as far as I know only the law applies of the country where the site is being hosted. Second, our RIAA (Buma/Stemra) made a deal with Youtube that

Repeat is on the todolist, for now press the close button and reselect the video from the bottom bar. See comment below for reaction on mp3/still image issue, hard one to solve.

Ah yeah that's indeed the problem. iPads are not supported yet, but they will as soon as Youtube releases the HTML5 video support to the public! I'll put the 'error' on the todo list.

For me it's impossible to monetize it yet. I'm located in The Netherlands and I've got to deal with a RIAA similar organisation called Buma/Stemra. If I monitize it I've to pay large amounts of license costs (I'm just a poor medicine studen

I guess you are using the regular search, that one shows the top 40 results from youtube. I'm not able to build in filters since it could be used for other things like checking out bbc news reports. If you want the MTV functionality: press
