I'm not so sure about that. I know quite a few young people who aren't tech-oriented who absolutely avoid installing apps. I suspect that, while a minority, there are a lot more ordinary people who take that stance than you think.

Why is an app needed for this at all? Why not just call your parents every day yourself?

In my experience, rich people make just as many bad decisions as poor people, but their wealth tends to protect them from the consequences of their decisions.

It was hard for me to believe that most people don't know how to shift gears. Every bicyclist around here learned on a bike with multiple gears and learning to use them was just part of learning to ride a bike. But your comment gave me

I don't. Listening to people talk is the worst way for me to learn anything (reading and doing are the best), and podcasts are entirely worthless to me on that count. So I stopped bothering with them.

Disagree. Video+audio is too information-sparse to give any sort of actual insight into those things. Unless the video were many hours long, maybe. I'm also pretty sure that nearly nobody will devote the time needed to watch the video

I could have stated that more clearly. I'm aware that there is software I could install to track this. I was just saying that (like, I imagine, the vast majority of people) I haven't installed such software, so don't have any

I would be hesitant to reach any conclusions about the hardware/software in question as a result of what the FCC is saying. There might be a real problem, but it's at least equally likely that this is all just about politics.

It is a can of worms indeed. Sadly, the President may be able to break the law without any repercussions. However, the same isn't true for the people under him.

I remember this little tidbit in economics class. This was a long time ago, so I don't know if it's still the case, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't. The odds are better than 50% that someone who reaches the upper-middl
