I fully agree with you on the hidden information problem. So many people seem to kind of praise this though. I, for one, started 3 characters and with every one of them I ran into a problem at around the time when the lightning spear become

I just read it and I actually found it funny. Come to think of it, I like the whole idea of the site. Slightly nerdy and, that's the important part, not taking itself too seriously. There's definitely worse examples of trying to a

I've been going to a simliar phase as you and the author in the last year (mentally I labeled it as "the loneliest year in my life (so far)"). My solution, as yours and the author's, is also to go back where my home and

Even if it's not the same as the hyperloop I still find it very interesting to see that similar ideas have already appeared in the 1950's and obviously not been executed. I saw this talk a while back by Peter Thiel ("You'

But is this really a age thing? I'm 24 and in the situation you described I'd have reacted exactly like "the older part" of the board. Isn't it more dependent on one being more extra- or more introvert? (which could

I don't get this either. Also from the article: "Why in the world would anybody spend any money to try to improve the seed if as soon as they sold the first one anybody could grow more and have as many of those seeds as they want?" If the f

Ocassionally I see memes pop up depicting variations of "the moment you have so much work to do, you decide to take a nap instead" (replace "take a nap" with whatever you do when you're procrastinating). While this could certainly be laid o

Wow, that's pretty tough isn't it? I mean, imagine going to a conference, joking around with a friend and the next day you get fired for it! I wouldn't even go so far to call this (yet another) discussion about women in tech. I mean there a

I think he's referring to the "companies use DRM to punish pirates" point. Which is by itself a reasonable idea. But as it turns out most companies somehow screw it up and end up punishing the customer instead of the pirate.

While I also doubt the value of this kind of questions in interviews, I don't think that figuring out this sequence is impossible. I figured it out by myself too when I saw it the first time. Of course that doesn't count for the increased s

I recently wrote my bachelor thesis about functional reactive programming. In the course of it I implemented a very simple scene with Yampa and an OpenGL binding for Haskell. The reason I chose Haskell was mainly because I never had a funct
