No one wins. You end up living in a police state and when you do experience crime, it'll likely be more severe. The root of systemic criminality is in the failure of society to justify why it's rules should be respected. That does

Of course. I let "some users" do a bit too much work in my previous comment. The point was that they're not doing anything that the other platforms aren't doing. They seem to do a fair bit to identify content that breaks

I clearly state that possibility in my comment and explain why I think it's unlikely. The base claim was that ByteDance was pushing sexualised content on TikTok while policing it on Douyin. This makes zero sense given that TikTok'

I did consider that. Traffic discrimination certainly occurs. However, I don't believe it's presence supports the claim in this case. The original claim is that Douyin promotes "wholesome" educational content, whereas Ti

They aren't pushing suicide videos specifically. Like most feed driven social media platforms, a video gets some engagement and it appears in the feeds of some users as a result. If it gets flagged or reported they take it down. TikTok

You could easily see for yourself by visiting the link in the previous comment. For what it's worth. Four out of the first five videos I saw on Douyin were sexualised in some way, the first was of a train driver. I scrolled through 20

It's not true you can see for yourself: https://douyin.com/ On TikTok you largely just get more of what you've already engaged with. If you're using the platform for porn you're going to get a lot of it.

I don't think the world would be a better off if the Bezos' and Gates' were to live forever. Death provides an opportunity for change. Often in the form of upheaval to political structures but more frequently in opening up so

Because the status quo has lead to a steady reduction in crime. Long term statistics are way down, and so are most short term statistics as well: 2017-2022 [0]: * ~9,000 fewer incidents in total. * Rape halved. * Robberies decreased to 2&#x
