Do you know the reason? Allowing down voting on comments but not on submissions?

Hn rarely allows people to downvote, only after you become an active member for many years And im sure this was designed in order to encourage positive discussion

> why is the regular voting system not enough Voting systems can be gamed and as HN becomes bigger and bigger it'll start to attract unsavory audiences who have an agenda.

One of Micheal and Dalton video does address this Even if you larp revenue, when you get acquired or go public auditors will figure stuff out. Or worse you go to prison. Its like cheating in college-youre just hurtung yourself and others

So the VA jobs are dying are the low end side(like how we see jobs getting fired due to an overhiring prepandemic)? Cuz i agree, if theres good acting, good voices, paying humans is a no brainer. Theres just so much sludge and it feels hard

I would say anything where the budget is more than 5-10k and has a production timeline of more than 3 months Then your time cost of finding VA(1+ month) and paying them is a smaller fraction overall

Btw I know what I said is inflammatory, but this is what Im seeing in industry. Only exception would be in high end work like key VAs in shows and movies

Voice acting has always been a dying art, but AI for sure is killing it Unless the work is higher end theres just so much hassle working with humans. You got to do a casting call, wait weeks to get 100 applicants, listen to all of them, and

Very interesting, I now see the reasoning of the VC hypothesis that the current hardware wasnt suited for AI, and therefore you got the all the wearables startups

I should make this clear-forcing your kids into kumon so they can skip a grade is really shitty I know its happens, but optimizing for education goals in American is usuabbly a faux pax

Being frank I think its not enough to have a good looking app and have some llm calls Think about your competition for your market. When I want my child to really excel in learning, I would force them into kumon - so they can skip a grade.

Have you read the Sal Khan thoughts on AI and education? About 1-2 years ago he had similar thoughts to solve that exact problem you mentioned. https://www.chalkbeat.org/2026/04/09/sal-khan-reflects-on-ai...

What is being taught to 5 year olds? And why would an AI tutor be better than an pre-k learning app Most students are pretty homogeneous in learning at that stage

Being real, I have no idea. I can only say in my industry(entertainment) which i believe 80% of content consumed is by AI(think like ultra niche specialized content but for the majority of people). 20% will be by humans commanding a premium
