I hear you. I never had any "real" issues with RVM other than I probably never really learned how to use it, so it kept tripping me up. (I'm not very good at this stuff..) I was setting up a new computer a few months ago and decided to giv

I've used them both and found rbenv's Just Works factor to be higher for me, personally. There's definitely enough people out there using both tools that neither can be said to be the one that "everybody is already using".

That was my point, thank you. My point was more that I don't know how you can call someone poor who can't afford to buy the album or the book or the movie, but can somehow afford the device that they can play it on. That doesn't sound like

With all respect, a) I don't think that truly poor people have the means to be spending their time "consuming media". That definitely falls at least close to "first world problem". b) Despite the RIAA, which is an organization that deserve

No, I want to down vote comments that only serve to project a vague superiority vibe and don't add anything to the conversation.

I'll ask again, Hacker News. I've been on this site for three years. I've derived an incredible amount of knowledge from just being here and reading. Lately though, I'm enjoying it a lot less. I'm not sure if my tolerance for snarky, dipshi

Personally, I've been doing Drupal for a few years now and found the knowledge and skills to be a lot harder-won than the knowledge and skills that I've picked up with Rails in the last few months. The knowledge and skills that I've picked

I don't expect journalistic excellence from Gizmodo, but is it too much to ask to have at least one other person just proofread the thing? "How does this guy who got in on the ground floor of Apple only to turn on them years later?" I'm pre

Thank god. Crafting HTML email is a thankless job IMO, and Googling for tips/help/pointers/bugfixes always makes me feel like Wall-E trying to sort through mountains of marketing spam for some actual technical help.

It's boilerplate. It's sensible to assume that sites might use GA, and their snippet is more optimized than the stock one Google gives you, IIRC. It's not difficult to delete.
