I've had similar problems. I think it's an anxiety thing. Ever tried mindfulness meditation? Basically you just sit for 20 to 40 minutes and focus on your breathing. It's been working well for me. I would also look into

FWIW, I just accepted an offer from Instacart (my first day is Monday). Phase 1 of the interview process was a 10 minute coding problem on Hacker Rank. Phase 2 was building a small web app in half a day on my own time from my own apartmen

You might be able to get a kind of distributed mentor through Stack Exchange. Just post lots of questions to StackOverflow, programmers.stackexchange.com, and codereview.stackexchange.com. Just a thought.

I think failed vs successful is a false dichotomy. Pretty much any idea could become viable if you dump a ridiculous amount of time and money into it. The best ideas are runaway trains and you have to struggle to keep up with demand. Tha

I don't think there is a good, established way. It's funny how many devs answer this question by waving their hands and saying, "everybody's a winner!" I think one way that might work is to have many programmers ev

Hey Mat. We met a few months ago (through Weave). I thought you seemed like a decent guy. IIRC, the main problem I saw was that you seemed strongly committed to an idea that I didn't find very interesting. I meant to follow up with
