I have done several campaigns on Facebook and found the CTR to be higher than Adwords, and CPC was lower. Unfortunately I found that traffic from Facebook didn't stick very well, so it was a wash.

I used Dvorak for a couple months and loved it. However, at the time, I was using other people's computers so frequently that I couldn't make the switch at that time. Lately that isn't the case so maybe I should try it again...

I really like this thing, but I don't see why it has to be even this complex. Although since the servo is powered in both directions, the machine will work even when upside down. A simpler alternative would have a STSP switch with a battery

You are assuming that the processes are memory bound. While this is a frequent situation for Rails apps deployed on VPS machines, they are just as frequently CPU bound when under load.

An unmentioned benefit of a dedicated server is that you aren't forced to use Linux. Many support FreeBSD, and a few will allow you to run anything you can install; OpenBSD, NetBSD, x86 Solaris, or even Windows.

This works, but not a perfect solution because the URL must be identical. For example if I post the link to the 'printable' version of a page this will not work if only the standard page has already been posted.
