Hehe, I have to underline this aspect as npm killed half an hour of my work yesterday, when I redownload some package in a sibling directory (for diff purposes). Never had this experience with go. The comparison is a little emotional for me

Why? I mean WebGL has hardware acceleration, modern JS is quite fast. Is it just about performance or is there anything else?

Everything there looks very pro HTTP like... But hey, curl doesn't support bittorrent afaik. So why should haxx.se care ;-)

I never wrote a single line of rust, but when a language is hard to learn, the compiler error messages are probably just bad in terms of comprehensibility and offer the user no direct solution.

Performance wise there should be no reason to build a desktop for 'dev-work'. But as far as I understand your situation you just want to build a desktop, not use one :D Just be aware, that you will probably end up with more than o

I use vim and tmux too. I use this combination, because I can also use 'watch' and 'tail -f' commands to deploy files or watch logs while I code.

The 'd2tf' example is just wrong... after realizing I didn't hit the right 'f' I would just press '.' (not 'ud2tf')... I think I will stay with vim for now, also the discoverability could be bett

hehe, thx for the quick reply. Had some trouble with qtdeploy and since go build worked (and I prefer go build workflow wise) I assumed it would result in the same binary. The demo application works without any of the libs from the deploy f

Does anybody know why the demo application is 52mb?!? I mean, yes, its statically linked but 52 million bytes for a window, a button and a pop-up? Shouldn't this fit into 5-10 mb? Is the whole qt lib linked into that binary?

Advice? Try riotjs.com (at least read what it is about). It gives you some basic structure, but is much simpler to understand than most frameworks/libraries, because you don't need all this router, dispatcher, whatever stuff, but

I am wondering why everybody wants a service provider and nobody seems to care about an open solution. If you choose an provider you are always bound to its fate. We have 20+ global messaging networks which do not cooperate/communicate

It is not. It was one of the design goals of the language to compile fast... https://talks.golang.org/2012/splash.article So I am wondering too what this is all about.
