20-something years of web/app.config is the primary reason why I hate XML. Very, very closely followed by Java ("a DSL for turning XML into stacktraces") and its over complicated ecosystem of xml configurations.

On the same system? I can see that. One thing I've lamented about XML for years is that it's a pain when moving to different systems that have their own namespaces/DTDs.

Hard disagree. XML is great for systems to read and write, but utterly abhorrent for humans. It's not just having to close tags. It's content vs attribute confusion, namespacing noise (which are also muddled with attributes), and

I meant SideBarItem's implementation is the tailwind div, but is referenced as SideBarItem like any other React component, not that the tailwind div is pasted all over. :)

Not OP but one I cannot look past anymore is when the movie has dialogue that is only there to spell out the plot to the audience. Usually it's very small things - some background character gleefully shouting out the obvious in the onl

I'm guilty of implementing <SideBarItem /> as export { SideBarItem = (<div class="flex-1 bg-blue font-bold, text-md d:none"></div>) } Is that a bad thing? (Genuinely asking for op

As a manager, I use it as an opportunity to review objectives (the objectives themselves, not the employee so much - i.e. are they still relevant, achievable, etc - or should they be changed), and let my staff speak candidly with me about w

I'll take those arbitrary rules if it lets me use component-driven design unlike raw HTML/CSS does. Very much a worthwhile trade off.

Using a javascript/typescript framework to build static sites is so common place now that I'd even go as far as saying it's the standard. Frankly, I hate working with raw HTML/CSS. It sucks . Using TSX is such a better

I've been using chatgpt to help me with my (online, ofc) shopping. Which microphone is best suited for a podcaster? What would be a good gift for a 6 year old's birthday? Etc. Often we surprisingly good results.

"Microservices" are not just an acknowledgement of this law, they are a full blown exploitation of it. They are (supposed to be?) literal implementations of your organisation's boundaries/domains.

It is inherently flawed though, isn't it? It assumes you're in just one big schema, surely? Part of DDD is breaking that assumption and fragmenting your systems into the disparate domains withing your org, fully encapsulating your

The flaw is that it forces someone into a role they do not want to fulfil, that could see the occupant become resentful of those around them and act out of spite. The short answer is there is no perfect model, people will always be people.
