All of the above, pretty much. Right now I make a six figure salary, and on top of that, I get stock options each month worth a few grand. To successfully poach me, you'd have to convince me of each of the following: A) Your company is a be

Interesting article, except that the examples don't line up exactly. For example, in PHP it's trivial to store the file contents in a var and refer to that over and over (as OP does in Ruby), but instead he chooses to read from the file ove

Serious question. I haven't figured out the need for MVC in JS. I'm primarily a PHP programmer, and I use a custom MVC on the back-end. I don't see the point in having two MVC frameworks (one in front, one in back). At the end of the day, t

This is a pretty awful "announcement". It doesn't tell you what Openbeta is or why I should care. I had to click through to a link to find out whether I cared about it or not (and I don't). Hire a better press release person, Betaworks.

I've played this game before (well, not this one, but the same game by a different company). Very enjoyable and your UI looks better than the other. The question I have is: how does one go about creating a puzzle game? I've always wondered.

You can turn off the built-in Inspector by going to about:config. There's an option in there (I forget the name of it off the top of my head... probably something like "inspector"!) and you can change the Boolean value to 0 and it will no l

Way, way better than the Adobe Air version. So satisfying to uninstall Adobe Air... Sure, it's got some bugs, but hey, it's beta! Love it so far.

I'm not sure this has anything to do with attracting women to web development. These women were already attracted to web development -- or they wouldn't be in Girl Develop It or any of those other groups, right? This is about DevBootCamp pa

My pet theory is that most diets aren't really that effective, but what _is_ effective is thinking about what you eat. It's not about how many carbs you consume or whether this food item would have a face or not. What's important is that yo
