I appreciate the effort, but this is kind of a weird project. Do you listen to podcasts on your desktop? Almost everyone I know listens to podcasts via their phone and usually does something else, like walking the dog, running, cleaning, or

First of all, let me put this out there: you don't want to be a manager. It's not fun and games. It's not a powerfest. It's a slog. It means more meetings, it means dealing with people's personalities and personal p

This, definitely. I don't allow my team to bring laptops into any of my meetings, unless they are giving a presentation, and I have taught and encouraged them to avoid taking laptops to other team members' meetings. Instead, we br

I do return to my notes, yes, but only within a week or two. Typically I'll take notes on Monday and then reference the notes from the meeting at either the next meeting or at a 1:1 or when I'm compiling my weekly status updates t

I have a notebook and I essentially dump everything into it. Each meeting I put a simple header: "Payments Weekly" or "Bob 1:1" or "API Review" and then jot my notes underneath. The only organization that exist

(Note: I wake up a little later than I would normally. Due to COVID and working from home, my commute is effectively eliminated, so I get to sleep in a little bit later.) Basically, I wake up at about 7:30am (pre-COVID, closer to 6am) and d

Given that every human on this planet was once a baby, I've often thought that it's kind of weird that we don't have more _data_ about raising a child. Like, I know everyone's a unique snowflake blah blah blah, but we&#x

I'm not religious, but my wife's family is. I listen to podcasts during the boring bits when we go to church for the holidays or when traveling. Not quite Slayer, but... still entertaining!

Same as before, mostly, except I wake up an hour later and go for a walk after work instead of commuting. My daily schedule looks something like this: 7:00am - wake up, fiddle with my phone because I don't wanna get out of bed 8:00am -

I don't hate the idea, but for me, the worst part of church is the filler part. The most interesting part is the sermon and the most necessary part is communion (for Catholics, anyway). The rest I could just dispense with altogether. S

I haven't heard of that, but those hearing aids aren't anything special w/r/t shape or size. They're using the same batteries as other hearing aids. I'm sure they're getting their cost savings somewhere el

My mother-in-law is a die-hard Catholic and has been raging for the past three months because she can't go to church, and I just don't understand why she can't just watch the live-stream that the priest is doing. But for her,

First, this was more tongue-in-cheek than anything else, so just keep that in mind ;) That said, you aren't wrong! But I think you underestimate how many people think communion is the most important part and don't actually partici

Here's my brilliant/crazy idea: drive-thru mass. Wait, wait, don't leave yet. Hear me out. Let's face it. Church is boring. Most of that time on Sunday is consumed with the same old filler material. The choir sings. You
