I'm slowly working my way toward park ranger, though I've considered paramedic. Wood working also sounds interesting, and I'm great with my hands. Certainly, programming is my passion; having to do it under someone else'

Having spent a month with Spacemacs, to give it a shot, and returning back to Vim, I've been craving some of the Spacemacs innovations. Unfortunately, we can't get elisp, which is a big selling point of Emacs for me, but Spacemacs

It's not purely functional if it supports side effects all willy-nilly. Scheme sans mutation (which is not the same as Racket, since Racket's stdlib still supports mutation) is no more purely functional than modern C++ sans mutati

Simplicity (not to be confused with ease of use) and stability. Slackware's one of the easiest to understand distros around, from the boot sequence to service and user management. Not much is done for you, but nothing is hidden from yo

You can enable HTTPS for custom domains using this approach: https://blog.jeaye.com/2016/03/01/github-pages-https/ Just be sure to delete your CNAME file, based on a recent Github behavior change.

That'd focus more on the security aspect, and its details, as opposed to contrasting the security we (ideally) get with HTTPS and the privacy we hope to get when using services.
