Many people who are perceived as "acerbic" are simply direct and don't engage in the poo-pooing that characterizes many human social interactions. To get rid of them is to revert to a less intelligent form of life.

There is a classical school of valuation that has difficulty dealing with Internet companies. Namely, a number of VCs, etc. have recognized that having a large number of passionate (or possibly addicted) users is the ticket to desirability

I hate to say this here, but msuster is the one VC out there who really knows how things work and talks straight -- and the one I'd really want to go to bat for me. There is no sugar coating or extra idealism, but he's not limited to just s

There definitely is something psychological as well as practical. First, it is an issue of social dynamics. Very intelligent people frequently develop means by which they congregate without the less intelligent. Elite academic institutions

There is a way around this. Charge the person sharing the file a certain amount of money after a certain bandwidth (rather than the person downloading the file). This would virtually prevent large scale piracy without preventing many other

I'd imagine that's only so if some human has intervened and told the "actual value" of something. However, I'd imagine that in just as many cases, if not more, there is no real "actual value" -- only computers playing with each other.
