Have to agree with this. It’s like someone calling me the N word. Arguable the word is “established” and probably reasonable to the sayer. Still hella disrespectful to me though.

I disagree. If a social media website is a business and it killing its main attraction harms its business prospects , it’s products have not improved. How much a product is worth is a major factor into what makes a product better or worse.

I feel like Onlyfans being a porn platform is the reason behind its success. Porn and sex are very strong motivators if dare not I say innovators for Platforms and technologies. I’m still hanging on the belief that VR will be catapulted by

This is a big thing for me. I really do not want to give any vendor raw Payment information if I can help. Would much rather do so though a service like Apple Pay/Google Pay. And then only have to worry about that one vendor when they

I disagree about one partly. It’s two (well 3 really) clicks to add a PWA to the Home Screen. I would describe it more as having friction than not being easy.

No they don’t since they don’t give the option. It sucks that Apple isn’t giving them the option to just not allow In-app purchases at all when there’s Patreon.

This is what I largely have a problem with (I personally don’t care about the 30% either way) why can Patreon, a similar service, do this but This app can’t?

Can anyone in Europe with IOS 15 see if Private Relay is able to bypass this? We have a similar situation over here in the States with Verizon and some piracy sites and It’s able to bypass.

I feel like this highlights a disparity between the users on Hacker News and the common people. For the majority of us , our work was easily transferable online or we we’re (for the most part) essential workers. This was not true for a good

I’m a bit confused by this comment. For One thing , comics accessibility != manga accessibility. I have more means of reading DC and Marvel comics than I do reading non-shonen jump manga and non-WEBTOON Webtoons. The biggest barrier being

Thankfully iOS 15 Private Relay Feature allows us migrate this without having to depend on Third Party VPNs. And since MangaDex is a PWA that runs on Safari, it can benefit from this in “app” form.

It’s up to the Devs to determine if their iOS/iPadOS App is suitable to be offered on M1 Macs. Some (like the HBO Max) honestly shouldn’t be offered.
