I think the original TiVo's had this "auto-skip" feature but had to be removed due to this issue.

Didn't this come up with TiVo commercial skipping? The issue was with TiVo, the customer never even had a chance to see the ad, not that ads are mandatory to watch. Doesn't that apply here?

Yea, I agree excessive self-promotion can be bad for a platform. In this case I included a link because I think it strengthens the argument. Product Hunt was built to help people like me—and it did. Here's the proof! And I think my pos

Don't understand the negativity. What Ryan and Product Hunt did was incredible. So many people wanted to create an alternative to Hacker News and Reddit for product people. Everyone else failed but they figured it out. That's awes

Two years ago I released a Mac app ( https://heyfocus.com/ ) that couldn't be in the MAS due to sandbox restrictions (tried 3 times—frustrating experience). I sat on it for an entire year because I was convinced nobody b

LeechBlock is great, but Focus works with all browsers and all apps and has much bigger ambitions!

The primary way Focus blocks stuff is via an Automatic Proxy Configuration (PAC) file. It's located in System Preferences -> Network -> Advanced -> Proxies -> Automatic Proxy Configuration.

Hello, creator of Focus here and I 100% agree. Focus isn't meant to force you to work. Focus is meant to provide an environment that's not distracting on your computer. That's it. The same way you might clean your desk before

Just as another data point, I agree with magsafe. I've used Core Data a bit recently and haven't really had any problems with it (though I agree it could be nicer). My huge, huge, huge problem, on the other hand, is sync. I don&#x

Did you read the same thread I did? Floobits addressed all the issues. It came down to a fundamental design decision—and after months of hard work, they got a non-answer.
