Thanks for posting this, repeated Google searches resulted in absolutely useless results! Especially as all I had to search on was '26 second pulse' and 'gulf of guinea'. Google is becoming worthless for 'serious&#x

It could be time for browser maintainers to start removing support for automatic favicon.ico requests, and fall back to simply supporting the meta tag.

You can set the shortcut icon meta tag to point to a fairly big (256x256) png file, and all modern browsers will re-scale it for use where-ever needed. The only place where I've seen multiple sizes needed was for SPAs on mobile phones

You are assuming there that all their code is non-proprietary, doesn't belong to someone else, already has a open-licence, and is of good enough quality to be shared with the public.

On Windows, it's just 'Win+R 'CMD' [Enter]' and you have a terminal/console. Presumably, if the agents were monitoring the perp properly, they would know what OS they would be targeting. I type the above SO oft

I think trying to emulate a built in browser notification is the wrong way to go. I wouldn't have got as concerned if the popup looked more like a web page overlay, with wording along the lines of: "Hi we're from Browser-upda

To be frank, I don't need to do anything. I'll update Chrome when I'm ready, thanks. What I object to, is a dodgy popup appearing on an unrelated website.

I do the same for my non-professional stuff. When I started learning PHP, I approached it the same way I do with every new language, I add a second file and use it for generic functions. I do it the native way inline as part of the main pr

As a child I read all the Tintin books. My favourite ones were Destination Moon, and Explorers on the Moon. The rocket used in those stories is iconic. For me, Starship taps directly into those memories. I know it's infeasible, but if

There's a chain of problems here. You'd need an open source GPS tracking app on your phone that has the rights to record and upload your location to a server whilst running in the background, then you need a personal server to sto

Conceptually, throwing a bunch of ICs, glue-logic, and some RAM etc. on a PCB is dead easy. The stumbling block here is the PC compatible BIOS. Is there an open source BIOS available that supports all the standard PC BIOS calls ?
