As a Windows guy who uses Linux on servers only, I used to install samba onto the servers and map a drive to that (over a hardware VPN). These were servers that I had full control over. I'd use an IDE on Windows and directly edit the c

As a Brit of a certain age, I hate the term TOTP in this context, as it will always mean to me 'Top of The Pops'[1] ;) --- [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_of_the_Pops

My setup is FAR from cheap: DENON 13 channel AVR, Monitor Audios all round, and KEF upfiring Atmos, all in a nice 7.1.4 setup (with a 100" projected image). I went with upfiring, as I didn't want to hack loads of holes in the ori

So what we're basically saying, and seeing is that Chrome on Windows, is the real culprit here? Edit: Just checked Firefox on Windows, same result... So it's Windows, yay.

Yet again, this is a website that has clearly only been tested on a hiDPI screen. At 100% scaling on Windows, the serif font used doesn't kern or render properly; crossbars in letters such as 't' and 'f' are overwe

In my opinion the XP Zune theme was the best of the bunch. I used to use it by default on all my XP machines back in the day. If I could make Windows 10 look like XP I would in a heartbeat.

Why not just set the desktop resolution to 1280x720?, as it's exactly 1/2 that of QHD, so everything will be twice as large, at perfect 2x pixel scaling. For the 4K screen, 1920x1080 is 1/2 4K so same point applies.

My screen on my main PC is a 32" BenQ QHD display. I run it at 100% scaling. I don't like the idea of 4K displays at >100% scaling, as I'm just wasting money on pixels I don't actually use directly. To be honest, the

Originally, cinema was square-ish, then TVs came along, and cinema needed to be 'better' to get people back into theatres, so they went wide, and then wider, and then cinemascope-wide.

Most of the great scenes from Yes Minister, and latterly Yes Prime Minister, still not only stand up today, but are also surprisingly still relevant 40 years after they were first broadcast. It truly was a genius show.
