Mine does have OneUI 8 already indeed, and I'm not that worried about it because I don't expect there will ever be an alternative OS for it. I don't use it for much else than occasionally calling and messaging and have disabl

I enjoyed LineageOS for years on my Samsung S4 until it finally broke from a fall. It's a shame there was no image to install on my new Xcover 7, but not unexpected as it was a newly released phone. But I doubt there will be an alterna

Same here since my new phone. I wanted a very simple interface and have no need for widgets and don't like a grid of toy icons. I just saw the pro version has folders but I don't have a lot of programs installed so the flat list i

I'm pulling apart and rewriting so far a little in C a personal fork of OpenTTD 12.2. I began on it a few years ago for the first time for the heck of it after patching for realtime, began again while adding features I wanted until I h

Would and how much would it shrink when if, while, and for were replaced by the simple goto routine? (after all, in assembly there is only jmp and no other fancy jump instruction (I assume) ). And PS, it's "chose your own adventur

Whenever I see "my" as a prefix, it feels like such a childish "my first Sony" thing. I hate official sites using that.

I use zswap, which is a non-fixed intermediate layer between RAM and swap and worked great on my old laptop which had a max of 4GB RAM. Even use it now on my current 32GB laptop. Full compression would be nicer, but I'd also like to se

Solid advice for as long as one can stand only listening. My experience is as mentioned in the post, people are egocentric and don't bother listening. That's why I stopped telling others how I feel or how things are after a while,

What is that saying again, a person is smart, a group is dumb? That's the risk involved with opinions and conclusions.

Well, I certainly won't sell my fiction to Apple for them to turn it into a series in the future. Unless they pay me 30% of all hardware and software revenue because popularity is a vehicle to sell more under the Apple brand.

I see the same point when it comes to fiction writing. Tested (via duck.ai) a while ago with creating fiction stories in less than 500 characters and it came up with generics and repeats that even went above the limit. Tried again just now

"Makes it so clear what it is." Well.., I've been more busy with writing code lately so that the first question coming to mind was, how many bytes is an array of one square kilometer? And I assume it's a two-dimensional

Someone else also mentioned advertising, yet even when I disable uBlock and allow everything with eMatrix (on Pale Moon), I see nothing of that. Maybe it's the excellent karma I have there.

"lots of klunky, ugly things" I wonder how much of that is caused by too complex thinking. It seems that simplicity is very difficult for most people. "You don't have to use unneeded features" True, but that doesn&#

Decent public transport makes all the difference. Luckily we have good transport here in the Netherlands and I haven't needed a car in 10 years. Also, the trains here have been running 100% on renewable energy since 2017.

After the first battery of my Samsung S4 expanded at the end of its life in less than 2 years, I found a utility that didn't work perfectly but could limit charge anywhere between 30 to 100% most of the time, and it prolonged the lifet

As I see it, the problem with languages trying to replace C is that they not only try to fix fundamental flaws, but feel compelled to add unneeded features and break C's simplicity.

I'm all for more realism in an FPS game, but then the realism also has to apply to the NPCs, who have unlimited ammo, can see through walls or worse, shoot through them, who have no fear and thus not hide or not long enough, don't

I've used Mistral via duck.ai for my hobby project a few times to convert C++ code snippets to C, which it did well and made it more clear what the code was actually doing.
