We recently switched to it for work. The electron app is okay - but a real mac app would be nice..

This. I’m a happy customer with a pretty complicated setup. Configuration is made super easy with profiles ready to download for mac/ios.

IIRC they did say that no customer data was leaked/ that there’s no need to worry. Need to check their press statement again later.

Is WPA Enterprise any better?

Yeah - I guess so. Still strange and unexpected from a brand that mostly targets businesses.

Complaining about bad docs isn’t really fair IMHO. Compared to Swift F# has excellent documentation. Would be interesting to know what F# is compared with in this case. Is there a language thats known for excellent docs ? One thing you can’

There is a beautiful json lib for F# called Thoth. Works on .NET and Fable. Encode.object [ "blockId", Encode.guid data.Id "blockName", Encode.string data.Name "nestedType", Nested.Encode data.Neste

Using this in combination with F# would make it pretty straightforward to build reliable embedded devices.

It’s a .Net library so it works (or should work) with F#. What sometimes leads to problems is F#’s record and discriminated union types. Not sure how they are handled by EF Core. Going back to plain SQL is just great. You know exactly what

Not supported IIRC as it’s not supported by JavaScript. I think it can still be archived with web workers.

From my experience it’s still not easy to find an F# Job. It’s a niche, but it exists and is growing. If you want one and are willing to take a few compromises you’ll find one.

what exactly do you mean by ‘concurrency’ ? F#’s async workflows are supported. Not sure how this is implemented behind the covers - I guess it get’s compiled to JS promises.

Yep. We’re using F# React on the front-end, Giraffe on the back-end. DustyTables for Data Access. It’s great - can recommend.

give duckduckgo a shot for say one week. I just don’t trust the results google returns. Sometimes I still !g something but rarely get a better matching result.

Uno is a really interesting approach to writing cross-platform UIs. It's interesting that they basically have a native implementation of say Button for every platform. This might lead to a unified style across platforms but as it does

There is iodide for vscode. http://ionide.io JetBrains Rider also supports it. Fantomas can be used as a formatter. https://github.com/fsprojects/fantomas

Haha, also checked the repo and thought the same. We're using F# in prod (about 200K LOC) and it has been great so far. We also use F# for two react front ends with fable (F# to JS compiler). More new alternatives for using F# in the b

agreed. Often dealing with an ORM is more complex than just to write a bit of SQL and reading code. Yep, never tried it either. https://github.com/Zaid-Ajaj/Npgsql.FSharp.Analyzer

We're using Giraffe and it's great. The nice thing IMO is that is sits on top of ASP.NET core. So it's fast and if you need something like SignalR, ... it integrate flawlessly.

The F# community is amazingly helpful. Really helped me when I started learning it.. F# works great for GUIs. Startet that project about a year ago and it’s gaining traction. Not sure if something like this exists for OCaml ? (If so please
