I think the biggest story here is UK electricity demand falling by 20% in short ten years. And this isn't a simple black/white, good or bad story. This is a clear sign of de-industrialization. It would be great if UK wind power wo

Not Tesla, but aquaculture. Aquaculture works and reasonably well for a few decades. Here's what we know now. 1. Aquaculture works 2. It's successful with only a handful of species 3. It can't replace marine caught wildlife 4

I am 99% sure that corn ethanol is US and Brazil story. Anyway with oil prices this low, it makes no sense. The whole idea was insane from the beginning as corn ethanol has negative EROI (more energy is spent on producing a single unit of c

I am highly skeptical of these claims. Corn is not new. Nor is wheat. Or rye or whatever. We have records of yields pre-green revolution, pre-GMO, pre-mechanization, pre-fertilizers, etc. And they aren't that great. Yes, modern agricul

I disagree. I bought a lot of Ikea things over the past 5-10 years and it ages nicely (except for garden chairs and tables stored outside). Of course I never tried to disassemble it (why would I), but I disagree that quality is shoddy.

I would be very skeptical about anything becoming 'permanent' at this point. Let's get over the pandemic first and see what the brave new world looks like.

Maybe not. I am 40+ years old and I clearly remember how the 80s and the 90s were full of stories about satanism. How listening heavy metal will turn kids into satanists. How there are satanist societies with child sacrifices. That's e

This is one of the few Netflix documentaries that I regret wasting my time on. Not only there's no new information in it, but it seems to be deliberately done in a way to promote outrage and get attention from the political apparatus t

Hmm, I kind of disagree. I don't personally find listed startup 'traditions' necessarily bad. In fact, I love the fact that there are startups that are just like that (maybe because I like whiskey too). BUT I think it's

My guess is this. Many companies are thinking about geo-readjustment. The true primary reason is that they want to lower their costs, given that a significant portion of their employees reside in high cost of living location (Bay Area, Seat

Tesla shares might be falling for other reasons. Not being profitable for years and years is one reason why this might be happening.

Monstrous things happen in any country when government wants to make a point of you. Just ask Julian Assange. It's a terrible situation to be in.

https://bitrix24.com is pretty good as Slack alternative as well. Free in cloud for unlimited users, open source edition for on-premises hosting is available as well, but it's $$$.

At first, I thought it was a repost of an article from 2017 or 2018. But yeah, Slack sucks in many situations, especially in large companies. But it's a great tool for a small group high intensity collaboration (small=8-9 people max).

There's something really strange this situation. Arguably the most powerful person in the world (POTUS) decides to devote his time on deciding the fate of an app for teenage boys and girls.
