(I made colormind.io) Color theory isn't an exact science, you could make random palettes from various color rules but they don't look good (imo). as an experiment, try this: go on https://color.adobe.com and click on

is this still the best approach to this problem? I would think that a GAN or similar would be better for keeping the correct features for things like faces etc.

it's not black and white. The prime minister visiting Yasukuni has political symbolism, which they're well aware of. There's also no excuse for Abe's historical revisionism. I'm a big fan of Japanese culture in gene

because the money and views directly enable this negative behaviour? These people are free to be assholes all they want, but they shouldn't be funded by youtube.

since.. always? moderation is the reason reddit/hn even exists. Nearly every online community is moderated in some way to kick out trolls and assholes, and the ones that don't quickly become like 4chan or voat.

I think this depends on your poverty culture. Growing up poor as an Asian immigrant, my experience has been "Extra money must go in the savings account, no luxuries EVER!", which is bad in its own way.

not op, but there are people that always buy the more expensive version of something, especially if it stands out among generic variants. This is one of the big motivations for price bracketing in SaaS.

I have a few open source projects that I consider "complete" ie not something I'm actively working on, eg. http://svgnest.com does liberapay/patreon makes sense? I've never bothered with a donate button

I had a few projects featured in September and the valuable traffic came from secondary sources - social media, blog posts etc. I think ph is less about users and more about social proof.

there are logos that are compositional, but most logos are abstractive - eg. the hammer and sickle logo only makes sense because we have prior knowledge of what hammers and sickles look like. You could learn an abstract representation of ha

I think logos are a tough problem for convnets because they're not very compositional - ie. they're not made of heirarchically nested parts. the space of logos is also probably not continuous - eg. there is a logo in the latent sp

I've always thought ROS was largely meant for prototyping. An http transport layer for all nodes (even on the same machine) doesn't seem like the right choice for a production system.

Cultural diversity is the end result of an egalitarian society that doesn't place any particular culture above others. imo it is a goal to strive for. Unlike humans, ideas are not created equal - some must be bitterly fought against. T

I think Apple is a Design company, as in that's their main value add. Like Steve Jobs said, design is not just how their products look but how they work - something that requires both software and hardware. On the other hand Google s

seems like we're basically in agreement. STEM majors working on ads are stuck at a local maxima. On the other hand, humans are bad at predicting the future, so attempting to allocate resources perfectly is probably a waste of resources

Capitalism = greedy optimization with a Bayesian assumption. It tends to get stuck in local maxima and does weird things when the inputs are biased, but otherwise works ok. There are almost certainly better ways to search the solution space
