"Last week I decided to start going through some of the popular Go tutorials" I assure readers that this kind of problem is only faced by beginners. If the author approached the problem from the other direction, i.e. by asking "how do I e

Who says it will crash? Could run very nicely, printing a list of prime numbers, or write poetry, or anything else that undefined behaviour encompasses.

"The EMTs took my vitals and urged me to go to the hospital for testing. I declined" At the risk of derailing the thread - is this because going to A&E in the US is expensive? I wonder how his hearing is.

Some people, when confronted with a problem, think, "I'll use recursion". Now they have zero problems, and think, "I'll use recursion". Now they have minus one problems.

I disagree, but I may not have expressed myself clearly. I have no doubt that an attempt to make the tax system air-tight would result in an even greater degree of loopholes and bureaucracy. But laws are not air-tight. Case law and "common-

I am angry that the law is so flawed, that the authorities are so slow to act, that the accountancy firms employed to write the laws were not impartial, and that companies negotiate special deals with HMRC. I cannot blame Google (or any oth

No, the system was designed to be convenient. I don't know how serious this problem is, but since this is the first we're hearing about it it must be pretty rare, as contactless cards are much more widely used in, say, Hong Kong. We're desi

Re-merging does not work like that. All Syrian transactions will effectively be reversed. That's assuming that they managed to mine anything, with such a small fraction of the usual computing power available.

This isn't a particularly new idea, so I don't see any reason to link it to Glass or any specific (Google or otherwise) technology. Eric Schmidt has been saying something like this for (at least) about 3 years. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/t

The idea that I will not get better at software engineering as I continue to practise it is baffling, and slightly scary. Perhaps I do not want it to be true, but I cannot see how I will get worse with added experience.
