The practice of using a contractor to avoid liability really speaks to the fact that they know what they're doing is wrong.

Do you use two-factor authentication? Staying logged in with the same trusted browser/device is a big benefit for security. It makes it a lot easier for companies to spot suspicious login attempts.

I'm surprised at comments in the bug threads suggesting they do nothing. The idea being that fighting this would force governments to fork/change browsers, ultimately being a worse experience for users. Seems like betraying people

Google doesn't embed a decryption key in their URL. AFAIK, they are just long lookup keys that are unguessable. The difference between that and local encryption is if you trust the storage provider. If you were a journalist in China, y

A long URL is essentially an authentication check. It's long/complex enough it can't be guessed, same as an auth token in your cookie. I'm not sure what guarantees they have regarding changing access, deleting images, et

You can do images with javascript. It's slow since you don't have any hardware decryption. Wouldn't be a great mobile experience. You could build a site around limitations but if nothing else, it would eat up battery. There a

On top of people mentioning text, I'll add chat emotes to the discussion. If you use anything like Twitch chat, it's filled with custom emotes you've never seen before. I can read text without each character having an abundan
